A man who works as a teacher in Istanbul is exiled to a village in Kastamonu. The teacher first repairs the dilapidated school in the village with the help of the villagers. He quickly wins the affection of the students and villagers. He also begins to address the village's other needs. He does everything he can to help the village develop.
