This Privacy Policy explains how Accelerated Viewer — an AI-powered platform that turns movies and TV shows into quizzes — handles your data. In short: we collect only your account info and quiz activity, analytics stay off until you opt in, we send quiz text and uploaded images to AI providers (including OpenAI) to generate and moderate content, and we never sell your personal information. Your display name, avatar, generated quizzes, and leaderboard standings may be public depending on your settings.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run Accelerated Viewer:
- Account information: your email address, and any display name or profile image you choose
- Quiz activity: quizzes you generate, attempts, scores, progress, and streaks
- Content you submit: quiz selections and any image you upload as an avatar
- Communication preferences: your email-notification and privacy settings
- Technical and usage data: collected only if you accept optional analytics (see below)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, secure, and maintain the Service and your account
- Generate, personalize, and recommend quizzes
- Display public profiles, leaderboards, and shared quizzes
- Send transactional email such as sign-in links and notifications you opt into
- Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, and policy violations
- Understand and improve the Service (only with your analytics consent)
3. AI Processing
To generate quizzes and moderate content, we send certain information — such as
titles, quiz text, and images you upload — to third-party AI providers (including OpenAI).
These providers process the data to return generated questions or moderation results. We do
not sell your personal information, and we share only what is necessary for these features to
work.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in. Optional analytics
(provided by PostHog) help us understand how the app is used and capture errors. Analytics
only load after you accept them in the cookie banner — declining keeps analytics off entirely.
You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.
5. Service Providers We Rely On
We share data with trusted providers who process it on our behalf, including:
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie and television metadata and imagery
- OpenAI — quiz generation and content moderation
- PostHog — optional, consent-based analytics and error monitoring
- SendGrid — delivery of sign-in links and notification emails
- Amazon Web Services (S3) — storage of profile images
- Neon and Vercel — database hosting and application hosting
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
6. Information That Is Public
Accelerated Viewer is a shared platform. Depending on your settings, the following
may be visible to others: your display name and avatar, quizzes you generate, and your
standings on public leaderboards. You can adjust your profile visibility and what is shown in
your settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to
provide the Service. We may keep limited records where required for legal, security, or
fraud-prevention purposes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal
information, subject to those limited exceptions.
8. Data Security
We protect your data using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in
transit (TLS), reputable cloud infrastructure, and restricted internal access on a
need-to-know basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot
guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct or update your information (much of it directly in settings)
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your information
- Opt out of optional analytics and of non-essential email
- Control your profile visibility

10. Children's Privacy
Accelerated Viewer is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal
information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes,
we will revise the "Last updated" date and may ask you to review and accept the new version
before continuing to use the Service.
