He hides in order to escape. Conchita's mother quietly takes a boat and sets out to sea. After a while, the boatman attacks her, demanding that she give him her money. Fortunately, Mihail realizes what is happening and rushes to save the mother, who eventually takes a liking to him and gives him her daughter's hand in marriage.
