There's a guy sitting behind bars in prison. Through the bars, he keeps yelling: "Hey, somebody!" A girl appears at his shouting... She tells him that a bunch of people from the neighboring town are going to kill him for raping a woman. The guy tells the girl about himself: he's a vagrant because he's bored living in one place. He's very lonely. But the girl is essentially just as lonely. This brings the young people together and creates sympathy between them. The boy sends the girl away for a revolver, but when she leaves, the armed husband of the allegedly raped woman appears.
