Raphaëlle Derome

Raphaëlle Derome is a Canadian science journalist, researcher and television writer. Trained in physical geography and journalism, she has worked across television, radio, magazines and digital media, specializing in scientific and technological subjects. Her television credits include the documentary series How It’s Made. She has also contributed to ICI Radio-Canada Première programs including Histoires d’objets, Médium large and Plus on est de fous, plus on lit!. Derome has written for publications including Les Débrouillards, Les Explorateurs, Curium and Québec Science, where she became a staff science journalist in 2022. She received the Fernand-Seguin science-journalism fellowship in 2004 and later co-hosted Le guide de survie des Débrouillards. In 2025, she received a silver National Magazine Award for her Québec Science feature “Face aux éléments.”
